Actors from Witnesses

April 7, 2021
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

When art meets science, those who were once witnesses or observers of an issue can become active participants in advancing change. Artists help us witness majestic and unexplored terrain, and illustrate landscapes and imagery that viewers may never be able to visit in person. Pairing the imagery created by artists with the thoughts of climate experts, this panel will inspire its audience to move from passive witnesses to active agents of change.

Robin Bell will moderate a conversation among Caroline Juang, Zaria Forman, and Jeff Frost to investigate what emotions emerge from art and unpack how art can motivate us to move beyond fear to hope and action.

Organized by MANA Contemporary in partnership with the Earth Institute at Columbia University and the Columbia Climate School, in celebration of Earth Month 2021.
