The Air Pollution Extremes workshop will take place November 1st – 2nd 2018 on Columbia University’s Morningside Campus. There will be an evening reception following the first day of the workshop on November 1st.
The Initiative on Extreme Weather and Climate will host this event which will be organized around several key themes.
We anticipate a review/synthesis as a product from the meeting, and we expect it will serve as a launching pad for collaborative activities.
Our goal is to bring together observation-based research, modeling, lab, and policy experts to discuss the state of the knowledge on extreme air pollution events.
The topical agenda of the workshop is listed below:
Global and regional perspectives
Observations and modeling of extreme air pollution events
Forecasting pollution events
The science, policy and health nexus
