Last year China emitted more heat-trapping gases than the US and Europe combined. There is no solution to climate change without China. In 2018, China led the world in deployment of solar power, wind power, hydropower, nuclear power and electric vehicles. Yet in 2018, China also led the world in coal consumption and financing of coal-fired power plants around the world.
