On Thursday, March 5th, the Earth Institute is hosting a talk, “Ethics of Cooperative Science: Indigenous Peoples and the Climate Crisis,” by Dr. Kyle Powys Whyte, one of the leading Indigenous scholars on climate change. Dr. Whyte, who is a member of the Potawatomi nation, is the Chair of the Humanities and is a Professor in the departments of Philosophy and Community Sustainability at Michigan State University. His primary research addresses moral and political issues concerning climate policy and Indigenous peoples and the ethics of cooperative relationships between Indigenous peoples and climate science organizations.
