Workshop on Analyzing Mixtures in Environmental Health Studies

August 19, 2019 - August 20, 2019
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Allan Rosenfield Building, 722 W. 168 St., New York, NY 10032 8th Floor Auditorium
The Environmental Mixtures Workshop is a two-day intensive training of seminars and hands-on analytical sessions to provide an overview of environmental mixtures concepts, techniques, and data analysis methods used in health studies. This workshop will provide a rigorous introduction to multiple different techniques to analyze exposure to mixtures in environmental health. The workshop will integrate seminar lectures with hands-on computer lab sessions to put concepts into practice. Emphasis will be given to supervised and unsupervised methods. Since the choice of method depends on the research question at hand, the workshop will conclude with a panel discussion on when each method presented is appropriate for use and for which research questions. There is a limited capacity for the workshop. Investigators at all career stages are welcome to attend, and we particularly encourage trainees and early-stage investigators to participate. Basic familiarity with R is recommended to get the most out of the Boot Camp, with tutorials on our website. Paid registration required through RegFox: https://columbia-workshops.regfox.com/2019-mixtures. More information about registration deadlines, fees, and logistics can be found on our website at https://www.mailman.columbia.edu/mixtures Email us at Columbia.Mixtures@gmail.com Registration Deadline: 7/30/19
