The Office of Sustainability's newest student intern, Ting-Ting Chou, is currently pursuing an MBA at the Columbia Business School, with a focus on strategic management and sustainability.
Ting-Ting is interested in exploring how strategic and operational levers can help drive the transition to a low-carbon, energy-efficient economy. Through coursework in finance, valuations, and data analytics, she’s building skills to evaluate business opportunities and make data-driven decisions.
Ting-Ting began working with the Office of Sustainability earlier this summer to build a framework for engaging Columbia’s supply chain vendors through the lens of sustainability and enterprise risk management. She’s the Office of Sustainability’s first Columbia Business School intern.
The project contributes to Columbia’s Plan 2030 goals within the Responsible Materials Management section. By integrating sustainability metrics with business risk indicators to inform strategic procurement decisions, Ting-Ting hopes to help Columbia reduce costs and lower its supply chain’s environmental footprint.
Previously, Ting-Ting worked in banking compliance and risk management, advising senior executives on changing regulations and managing global risk exposure. She’s led compliance testing initiatives and coordinated cross-functional teams to identify and address critical risks.
Ting-Ting is originally from Taipei, Taiwan. She enjoys travel planning, flower arrangement, and exploring NYC’s parks, museums, and bookstores.
