Meet Daniel Zarrilli, Columbia University’s first Chief Climate & Sustainability Officer! Zarrilli leads and coordinates the University’s comprehensive efforts to achieve its climate commitments and sustainability goals.
In an interview with Columbia News, Zarrilli spoke about his critical work on climate change. “This new role really stems from the role of climate change, which, of course, is caused primarily by the burning of fossil fuels, coal, oil, and gas. And the reality of the impacts we are already seeing here in our city and around the globe,” he said. “We have an imperative to do something about that. And Columbia University has an enormous potential to be a part of the solution.”
