Columbia participates in the Campus Conservation Nationals Energy Challenge

March 27, 2014

From March 27 – April 10, Columbia’s undergraduate residential community* is invited to commit to the Energy Challenge, a hall-to-hall competition to reduce electricity output. The building that achieves the greatest percentage reduction in electricity use will win a catered party, and one lucky resident of the winning building will get an iPad! Complete the Energy Challenge commitment form to be eligible for the iPad and other drawing prizes.

Reduce your electricity consumption by undertaking simple actions that yield a strong collective impact: turning off lights and unplugging electronic devices when not in use are just a couple of actions that can go far in reducing CO2 emissions from the power plants that supply our energy.

Get daily updates on how your building is faring in the competition by visiting the Building Dashboard or checking the residence hall TV screens starting March 28, and follow the simple, energy-saving tips below to keep your building in the game over the course of the Energy Challenge. Good luck!
